Writing about art is always a risky business: there are no absolutes in a field of endeavour where subjective experience is one of the paramount characteristics of any encounter with art.

In any event, using one language to describe another - using written words or the human voice to describe visual imagery - is a risk that must be taken when writing about art.

But it is, as a wise person once said, ‘like dancing about poetry...’
